On January 1, 2011, The International Code Council (ICC) released two new exams for the CALGreen code. The two exams are for CALGreen Inspector and CALGreen Plan Examiner. I have taken both exams and they cover both the residential and non-residential mandatory and voluntary measures. Both test are 50 questions each and is open book. The ICC committee which developed the questions did an excellent job of creating straight forward questions and answers.
You can log into the ICC website, click on the “Education and Certification” section and proceed to the reservation webpage. ICC uses an outside vendor, Pearson Vue, to conduct the testing. There are many testing locations throughout California. The exam indentifcation codes are “CG” CALGreen Inspector Test and “CX” CALGreen Plans Examiner Test.
Good luck with the exam and let me know what you think of the test.
