On Monday, November 5, 2018, Barbara G. Gonzalez, Project Manager at VCA Green, presented to The Special American Business Internship Training (SABIT) program Eurasian Delegation. The group consisted of 18 construction, engineering and respective government representatives in the green construction material, energy efficient HVAC, lighting, and insulation sectors. The presentation focused on CALGreen and Energy Code requirements, and their alignment to LEED credits.

The Special American Business Internship Training (SABIT) Program is designed to build partnerships and provide technical assistance by training Eurasian and South Asian business leaders in U.S. business practices. The program’s alumni network of almost 7,000 leaders from business and scientific communities use their SABIT training to create better business climates for trade and investment and are predisposed to work with American companies. The linkages formed through SABIT serve as a basis for new business development and lead to tangible results. The program has generated over $1 billion in U.S. exports to Eurasia since its inception in 1990. This represents a return on investment of 14-to-1.

VCA Green is pleased to have participated in a program which could encourage further dialogue and collaboration with these regions. Our involvement added some context to what was in store for them at Greenbuild 2018 in Chicago.
